Take Hwy. 395 North from Bishop to Pine Creek Road. Turn left onto Pine Creek Road. 17-01-2021 Pine Creek Gorge is a great destination and it is good to approach it from many angles. Getting there by car the best it is to head to Leonard Harrison State Park. Currently the Visitor Center is likely closed (it was, during our visit due to coronavirus precautions) but there is a large parking lot with access to three impressive overlooks, good access for handicapped tourists as well etc. Join a Red Rock Canyon Naturalist on a hike along Pine Creek Canyon trail. Come learn about the historic significance of this trail. We will review outdoor ethics along the trail and talk about how to safely enjoy and conserve the desert. We’ll also learn about some of the hardy plants and wildlife that live in Red Rock Canyon.

Pine Creek Canyon is one of the easier trails you’ll find in Red Rock Canyon, but it’s still quite rewarding and offers some beautiful scenery. Except for one part, this 3-mile lollipop trail is pretty easy to hike, and you’ll get to see some interesting rocks and the ruins of an old homestead along the way.
